Stretch Sleeve Labeling
Stretch sleeves are ready-to-use labels which, as the name implies, are stretched and applied to the container without the use of adhesives. Their natural elasticity is all that is required to hold them in place. Stretch sleeves are easy to apply, and no heat tunnel is needed. Stretch Sleeves allow for 360 degrees of graphics.. By using this technique, plain containers can be inventoried and the appropriate sleeve applied. These sleeves are particularly appealing in the case of a consumer packaging product in large containers which would pose inventory problems.
Benefits of Stretch Sleeve Labels:
- The Stretch Sleeve print processes possible with up to ten colors
- Numerous promotional possibilities (magic window, twist-off, inside printing, metallic and fluorescent effects)
- Stretch Sleeve Labels are adhesive-free
- Optimal adaptability and perfect fit thanks to natural elasticity (also after opening)
- High resistance to light and temperature.
It is recommended that containers to be sleeve labeled have a label recess, or protection tabs to guard against rubbing. This will also prevent the label from slipping off the container.
As of early 2010, B&C Plastics Ltd. has the in-house capability to apply stretch sleeves mechanically. The sleeves can be inventoried at B&C Plastics Ltd. and containers presleeved per your directions on each order release.
Heat Shrink Sleeve Labeling
Shrink Sleeves are labels made of film that are applied to a container and shrunk to fit the contours of the container through the addition of heat.
Benefits of Shrink Sleeves:
- Allows for complete decoration (full-body 360 degree labeling)
- Suitable for metal, glass and plastic packaging containers.
- Special effects such as thermo/photo/relief and metallic effects enhance appeal.
- Optimally suited for tamper evident seals (freshness seals/security seals), promotional effects and
full-body labeling.
Currently B&C Plastics does not have the equipment to apply and shrink these types of sleeves.
